The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has secured full accreditation for 19 academic programmes following the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise conducted in October and November 2025.

Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammed Khalid Othman announced the outcome at the university’s 139th Regular Senate Meeting on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

According to Professor Othman, NUC assessed 30 programmes across FUDMA’s faculties. Nineteen received full accreditation, a result he said reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and service to the community. The remaining 11 programmes were granted interim accreditation status.

Professor Othman commended the contributions of former Vice Chancellor Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi and former Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Aminu Ado, noting their role in guiding the university through the rigorous accreditation process.

He also acknowledged the efforts of deans, heads of department, faculty members, administrative staff, and students for their commitment during the exercise.

Special recognition was given to the Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring, led by Director Professor Daud Mustafa, for coordinating preparations and ensuring a smooth process.

Professor Othman disclosed that another round of NUC accreditation is scheduled for October 2026. He pledged institutional support to the affected departments and urged them to begin preparations immediately to maintain FUDMA’s proactive stance on quality assurance.
