FUKashere Governing Council Appoints New Principal Officers.

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Kashere (FUK), Gombe State, has approved the appointment of new principal officers to strengthen the University’s administration.

The approvals were granted at the Council’s 10th Special Meeting held on Monday, 2nd February 2026.

Following the decision, Dr. Tukur Abba has been appointed as the new University Librarian. Dr. Abba, an Associate Professor from Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, previously served as University Librarian at MAU between 2018 and 2023. He holds Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees and is a registered member of the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).

Also appointed is Engr. Abdullahi Adamu Mohammed as Director of Works and Maintenance Services. He was formerly the Acting Director and holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University, Kano. He is a registered member of COREN, NSE and NIMechE.

In addition, Tpl. Muhammad Imam Yunusa has been appointed as Director of Physical Planning. He holds a B.Tech in Urban and Regional Planning from ATBU, Bauchi, and joined the University in 2011. He rose to the rank of Deputy Director in 2022 before his current appointment.

The Chairman of Council, Prof. Williams O. Aderounmu, congratulated the appointees and urged them to deploy their wealth of experience towards the growth and development of the University.

All appointments take immediate effect.
