FUKashere Imposes 11:00 PM movement restriction over security concerns
The management of the Federal University of Kashere (FUKashere) has announced a restriction on movement within and outside the university campus as part of measures to ensure the safety of staff and students.
According to a general circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on Friday, January 16, 2026, the decision was reached following an emergency meeting of the University Security Committee, where the prevailing security situation within the university community and the country at large was reviewed.
The circular stated that movement on campus will be strictly prohibited after 11:00 PM until further notice. All members of the university community are advised to plan their activities accordingly and comply fully with the directive in the interest of safety and security.
The Registrar further directed the Chief Security Officer of the university to ensure that all campus gates are securely closed by 11:00 PM daily.
The university management expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of staff and students as the measure remains in force.
The circular was signed by Dr. Nasir Lawal Abdullahi, Registrar of the Federal University of Kashere, and copied to the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors (Academics and Administration), Bursar, University Librarian, Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors, and other relevant units.
