FULAFIA unbundles Faculty of Sciences

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia ( FULafia) has approved the unbundling of the Faculty of Science into two faculties, namely, the Faculty of Life Sciences and Faculty of Physical Sciences. 

The Governing Council made the unbundling decision during its 23rd Regular Meeting which was held on June 19, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the Registrar of the University and Secretary of the Governing Council, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, the newly established Faculty of Life Sciences would house the following departments:

1, Department of Biochemistry 

2, Department of Microbiology 

3, Department of Zoology 

4, Department of Plant Science & Biotechnology and,

5, Department of Science Laboratory Technology.

The statement added that the new Faculty of Physical Sciences would house the following departments:

1, Department of Physics 

2, Department of Statistics 

3, Department of Chemistry 

4, Department of Geology and,

5, Department of Mathematics.
