FUNATO declares public holiday for Ramadan Sallah
The management of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO) has announced the suspension of academic and administrative activities in observance of the upcoming Ramadan Sallah celebration.
According to a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on 16 March 2026, the decision follows the declaration by the Federal Government of Nigeria which set aside Thursday and Friday as public holidays to mark the Islamic festival.
In compliance with this directive, the university management informed all staff members and students that the two days will be observed as official holidays across the institution. As a result, lectures, administrative operations, and other official university activities will be temporarily suspended during this period.
The circular further explained that normal university operations will resume on the next working day after the holidays. Members of the university community are therefore advised to take note of the announcement and adjust their schedules accordingly.
The notice was signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Amuni Mohammed Olayinka, on behalf of the university management.
Ramadan Sallah, also known as Eid al-Fitr, is a significant Islamic festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims observe fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.
