FUOYE reschedules DETIE vocational skills development practical sessions
The Directorate of Educational Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (DETIE) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has officially announced the rescheduling of the Vocational Skills Development Practical Sessions for all 100-level and 200-level students of the institution.
This announcement was conveyed through an internal memorandum issued by the Director of DETIE, Engr. Olarewaju P. Ogunjobi, FNIE, on 16th March 2026. According to the memo, the practical sessions form an important component of the universityβs entrepreneurship education programme aimed at equipping students with practical vocational and innovation skills.
New Schedule for the Practical Sessions
Date: Friday, 27th March 2026 and Saturday, 28th March 2026
Venue: Entrepreneurship Centre, Oye Campus (for students in Oye Campus) and Entrepreneurship Centre, Ikole Campus (for students in Ikole Campus)
Time: 8:30 AM on Friday and 10:30 AM on Saturday
Courses Involved
The practical sessions are part of the assessment for the following entrepreneurship courses offered at the university:
- ENT 101 β Introduction to Entrepreneurship (for 100 Level students)
- ENT 211 β Entrepreneurship and Innovation (for 200 Level students)
DETIE emphasized that the practical component of these courses carries 40% of the total assessment score. Consequently, participation in the practical sessions is mandatory for all concerned students.
Compulsory Attendance
Students have been strongly advised to attend the sessions as scheduled. Attendance will be recorded, and any student who fails to participate in the practical sessions may face appropriate academic sanctions in accordance with the regulations of the university.
The Directorate has therefore urged all academic units to ensure that the information reaches the appropriate stakeholders. Departments are expected to notify their respective students promptly in order to ensure full participation and compliance.
Dissemination of Information
The memorandum has been distributed to key university officials including the Provost of the College of Medicine and all Deans of Faculties, with copies also sent to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Strategy, Partnerships, Research, Innovation and Linkages (SPRIL). Heads of Departments and lecturers are also expected to communicate the directive to students within their faculties.
