FUT Babura Dept. of Civil Engineering notice on SIWES defense & documents submission

The Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, Federal University of Technology (FUT), Babura, has announced the schedule and guidelines for the 2025 Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) defence for 400 Level students.

According to a notice issued by the Office of the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (STWES), the SIWES defence is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 21st January, 2026.

Students are required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation of not more than 15 pages for the defence. The presentation should follow this format:

In addition, all affected students must submit the following documents on or before Monday, 19th January, 2026, to be eligible for the defence:

SIWES Logbook

SIWES Form B (hard copy)

SIWES Assessment Form duly signed and stamped by the industry-based supervisor

The department emphasized that only students who submit all required documents before the deadline will be scheduled for the SIWES defence. Students who fail to comply will be required to carry over the 300 Level SIWES programme.

The SIWES presentation schedule will be released on Tuesday, 20th January, 2026, and will be based strictly on the list of qualified students.

Furthermore, students who could not be reached by their institution-based supervisors due to faulty phone numbers or network issues are advised to visit the STWES office between 9:00am and 1:00pm on Monday, 19th January, 2026, or Tuesday, 20th January, 2026, for proper evaluation before the defence day.
