FUTIA set to hold Students' Week, VC football Cup, Others
The Management of Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi(FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State has approved the hosting of the 3rd edition of the FUTIA Students’ Week 2026.
In a release made available by the Students’ Affairs Division of the University on behalf of the management hereby notify the university community, host community and the general public to take note of the forthcoming event as duly approved by the authorities of the university.
The fixtures of the 3rd Edition of the FUTIA Vice Chancellor’s Football Cup Championship 2026 will hold side-by-side along with the itinerary of the 3rd Edition of the FUTIA Students’ Week 2026.
The approved order of activities for the forthcoming twin event as released by the Students’ Affairs Division in conjunction with the FUTIA Students’ Representatives Council as well as the Sports Unit of the University is scheduled as follows:
DAY ONE:- Monday, 18th May 2026 by 10am
Visibility Outreach (On Campus and around the Major streets of Ikot Abasi LGA )
DAY TWO:- Tuesday, 19th May 2026 by 10am
Opening Ceremony/Students’ Innovative and Interactive Session
DAY THREE:- Wednesday, 20th May, 2026 by 10am
Costume Day/Exhibition & Talent Hunt
DAY FOUR:- Thursday, 21st May, 2026 by 6pm

Emergence/Crowning of the Face of FUTIA (MR & MISS FUTIA for 2026/2027 Academic Session)
DAY FIVE:- Friday, 22nd May, 2026 by 3pm at FUTIA Sports Ground
Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Edition of the FUTIA Vice Chancellor’s Football Cup Championship 2026
DAY SIX:- Saturday, 23rd May, 2026
Award & Dinner Night
Red Carpet by 4:30pm
Main Event by 5pm
Presentation of Awards to deserving Awardees and Prizes to winners/Departments and Schools.

Thanksgiving Service at FUTIA Chapel of Grace, Temporary Campus

The theme of this year’s Students’ Week 2026 is: “Heroes in the Making”.
The event is aimed at celebrating students’ creativity, extra curricular activities on campus through improved physical, social, mental fitness and health infrastructure needed by students and staff for accelerated teaching and learning outcomes. The activities will also enhance academic excellence, unity in diversity among students, cultural renaissance and campus lifestyles.
Accordingly, the Vice Chancellor, PROFESSOR LEO DANIEL on behalf of the Management and staff of the University wishes the FUTIA Students’ Representatives Council and the entire students of the University a fruitful, hitch-free and rewarding FUTIA STUDENTS’ WEEK 2026
