FUTO announces SIWES defense schedule

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has released the schedule for the Industrial Training (I.T) Viva Defence for the 2024/2025 academic session.

According to a memo issued from the Office of the Vice Chancellor, SIWES Unit, dated October 27, 2025, the 300 and 400 level students who participated in the mandatory Industrial Attachment are expected to complete the exercise by Monday, November 3, 2025.

The SIWES Unit has fixed the I.T Viva Defence to hold from Wednesday, November 12 to Friday, November 21, 2025, across various schools as follows:

Wednesday, 12th November 2025: SAAT

Thursday, 13th November 2025: SOBS

Friday, 14th November 2025: SOHT/SBMS

Monday, 17th November 2025: SICT/SLIT

Tuesday, 18th November 2025: SOES

The Unit also stated that officers will be mobilized to ensure compliance during the defence. Students who have not fulfilled the SIWES requirements or whose names did not appear on the list are advised to visit the SIWES Unit for clearance before the defence.
