FUE Zaria announces Christmas and New Year break holidays

The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ) has officially declared the dates for the 2025 Christmas, Boxing Day, and 2026 New Year public holidays, in accordance with the Federal Government's declaration.

In a Special Bulletin issued on Monday, 22nd December 2025, the University Administration informed the community that the following days are public holidays:

· Thursday, 25th December 2025 (Christmas Day)

· Friday, 26th December 2025 (Boxing Day)

· Thursday, 1st January 2026 (New Year's Day)

The bulletin referenced a statement from the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who urged all Christians to emulate the virtues of Christ during the festive period.

Consequently, the University will be closed for the duration of the holidays, with the exception of essential services. Staff members assigned to special duties are required to report to work on the declared public holidays.

The bulletin also announced that academic activities will resume fully on Monday, 5th January 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Yahaya Isa Bunkure, admonished the Christian community to use the period to pray for the peace and prosperity of the University, Kaduna State, and Nigeria. He extended his warm wishes to the entire University Community for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
