In a statement signed by the public relations officer of the institution, Kayode Sutton, it said β€œthe council, in clear terms, wishes to place on records that it was not a signatory to any agreement between ASUU-LASU and the government.

β€œIn addition, the agreement referred to did not mandate the council to carry out any implementation. It is therefore noteworthy that what was expressed by the leadership of ASUU-LASU at the meeting of LASU Management, Appointments and Promotions (Academics) Committee and ASUU-LASU executives on the industrial action held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, was simply an opinion of the Academic Staff Union.
