Gunmen abduct UNIJOS professor and her husband

A professor with the Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Jos, Grace Ayanbimpe, and her husband, have been abducted by gun-wielding men suspected to be kidnappers, at their residence behind Haske Quarters, Lamingo in Jos North Local Government Area of the state, in the early hours of Monday, May 17, 2021.

A resident of the community, Philip Dachung, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Jos, said the gunmen had stormed the community at about 2:00 am, shooting sporadically into the air, taking the couple with them. He added that the whereabouts of the couple is still unknown.

A staff of the University of Jos, who also confirmed the incident, said, the university got news of the abduction, and is praying for their safe and quick release.
