The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, has issued a press release updating students on the ongoing two-week warning strike and the planned resumption of academic activities.

Following recent engagements with His Excellency, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State, the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, and the University Management, the SUG expressed hope that the strike will be called off on Tuesday, 20th January 2026.

The Union has therefore called on all students yet to resume to return to campus, as academic activities are expected to commence immediately after the strike is officially suspended.

The SUG reassured students of its dedication to protecting their welfare and maintaining a stable and conducive academic environment through proactive engagement with relevant authorities.

Students are advised to remain calm, orderly, and attentive to official communications from both the University and the Students’ Union Government.
