Ika South Local Government 2025/2026 Students Bursary Scheme application

The Ika South Local Government has officially announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 Students Bursary Scheme for eligible indigenous students of the area.

In a public notice released recently, the administration under the leadership of Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior introduced the bursary as part of its Education Support Initiative aimed at promoting academic excellence and alleviating the financial burden on students.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To qualify for the bursary, applicants must:

· Be a bona fide indigenous student of Ika South Local Government Area.

· Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

· Be a full-time student in a government-approved public or private tertiary institution.

· Have a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in the previous academic session.

· Be in second year (200 level) or above in universities, ND II/HND in polytechnics/monotechnics, or NCE II-III in colleges of education.

· Hold an active account with a CBN-approved commercial bank.

NOTE: Postgraduate students (PGD, Masters, PhD) are NOT eligible to apply.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants are required to upload the following documents during the online application process:

· Local Government of Origin Certificate

· Birth Certificate / Declaration of Age

· Provisional Admission Letter

· Last Semester Result Sheet (signed by Head of Department)

· Student Identity Card (front and back)

· Recent Passport Photograph in JPEG or PNG format

APPLICATION PROCESS

· Interested candidates should visit www.bursary.ikasouthlga.dl.gov.ng and click on “Proceed to Application Portal.”

· A non-refundable processing fee of N1,100 is required to complete the application.

· Successful applicants are advised to download and print the online acknowledgement card for their records.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application portal will be open for four weeks, from Friday, 16th January 2026 to Friday, 13th February 2026.
