AKSU SUG update on NELFUND Loan
The Studentsβ Union Government has issued an update regarding the processing and administration of NELFUND loans for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Students who applied for the NELFUND loan and had already paid their tuition fees prior to disbursement are eligible for a refund. For graduating students, this refund will be processed directly, while students proceeding for an extra year will have their accounts credited toward the 2025/2026 session. Additionally, undergraduates whose loans have been successfully disbursed will see these updates reflected in their student portals.
Affected students are required to pay a fee of N2,000.00 to facilitate the online upload of their academic results. Following this payment, students must proceed to the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to complete their course registration.
When visiting the ICT department, students must present the following documentation:
- NELFUND Loan slip.
- Evidence of payment for the N2,000.00 fee.
- Evidence of payment for any outstanding balances.
Students who have not completed their course registration before the commencement of examinations are required to secure a written document from the Directorate of ICT. This document must be presented to gain clearance to write their exams.
The University has officially abolished the option for "Suspension of studies due to financial constraints." Students experiencing financial difficulties are instead encouraged to apply for the NELFUND loan.
