Akwa Poly reschedules 2025/2026 SUG Elections

The SUG Electoral Board of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has officially announced a change in the schedule for the 2025/2026 Students’ Government Election (SUG).

Originally slated for Friday, April 10th, the election has been moved to Saturday, April 11th, 2026. This adjustment was made to align with Akwa Ibom State Government functions.

Revised Electoral Guidelines and Schedule

Tuesday, April 7th, 2026
Sales and return of nomination forms.

Wednesday, April 8th, 2026
Security screening for all aspirants.

Thursday, April 9th, 2026
Publication of names of cleared candidates and a mandatory meeting of all candidates with the Electoral Board.

Friday, April 10th, 2026
Seminar on E-voting and presentation of manifestos by Presidential candidates only.

Saturday, April 11th, 2026 (Election Day)
Voting will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

All prospective aspirants are expected to cooperate and adhere strictly to these new procedures to ensure a smooth transition. Students and the Polytechnic community are advised to be guided accordingly.
