GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC POSITIONS 
a)    Professor: Ten (10) years post-doctoral qualification with teaching and research experience in an academic institution and minimum of twenty-five (25) academic publications. 
b)    Associate Professor/Associate Research Professor: Eight (8) years post-doctoral qualification with teaching and research experience and minimum of twenty (20) academic publications. 
c)    Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow: Six (6) years post-doctoral qualification with teaching and research experience and minimum of fifteen (15) academic publications. 
d)    Lecturer I/Research Fellow I: Three (3) years post-doctoral qualification with teaching and research experience and minimum of five (5) academic publications. 
e)    Lecturer II/Research Fellow II: PhD in relevant field and minimum of two (2) academic publications. 
f)    Assistant Lecturer: M. A./ M. Ed./ M.Sc. Degree in relevant field with evidence of admission of PhD and considerable teaching and research potential/experience. 
g)    Five (5) relevant O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. 
h)    First Degree with at least Second-Class Lower Division (22) plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate 
i)    Membership of professional bodies is required for the following fields for Senior Lecturer and above in Environmental Sciences: Architecture(ARCON), Building (CORBON), Estate Management (ESVARBON), Quantity Surveying(QSRBN), Survey and Geoinformatics (SURCON), Urban and Regional Planning (TOPREC). 
j)    Reference letters must be forwarded directly to the Registrar under confidential seal with the name of the applicant and the position applied for not longer than one week after close of application. At least one of the 
referees must be from the applicant’s most recent/current place of employment or an academic for academic positions.
