The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has revealed the top scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Speaking at the 2025 Policy Meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede, said Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State has emerged as the highest scorer in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a total score of 375.

However, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed that the board discovered some discrepancies in Okeke’s records. According to Oloyede, Okeke, who applied to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lagos, was found in JAMB’s database to have been admitted to the Department of Medicine at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) four years ago.

Prof. Oloyede explained that JAMB contacted UNN for clarification, and the institution confirmed that Okeke was indeed admitted and is still actively enrolled as a medical student. He added that there was no information indicating that Okeke had been withdrawn from the programme.

As a result, Oloyede said the board has written to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria to ensure that Okeke is not permitted to practise medicine under these circumstances.

Meanwhile, other top scorers in the 2025 UTME include Ayuba Simon-Peter with 374; Jimoh Abdulmalik, Roberts Damiete, Ononugbo Chigozirim, Olawepo Gertrude, Afinotan Leslie, Azoyenime Samuel, and Oyebode Oluwapelumi; each with a score of 373.
