JAMB extends time for 2026 UTME mock, says it is mandatory for qualified candidates
JAMB has announced that the upcoming Mock UTME will now last four hours instead of the usual two hours. According to the board, this change is intended to give candidates enough time to properly familiarise themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment before the main exam.
To achieve this, the mock will be conducted in two back-to-back sessions on the same day:
- First session: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- Second session: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Candidates are expected to participate in both sessions consecutively, as this extended format is designed to provide better exposure and preparation for the actual examination.
Meanwhile, the Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, emphasized that participation in the Mock UTME is compulsory for all candidates who registered for it. He explained that mock slots are limited, and any candidate who fails to attend is simply wasting an opportunity that another student could have used.
All registered candidates are therefore strongly advised to make the necessary arrangements and ensure they take part in the Mock UTME. If you are yet to print your mock slip, see procedure to do that now at this link: JAMB mock exam slips for 2026 are ready
For those who will not be taking the mock, we advise you to download the SchoolGist JAMB CBT Mobile App and/or SchoolGist JAMB CBT Software for Computers. These will give you the same JAMB mock experience. Also, there will be a LIVE UPDATES thread to also help you monitor the proceedings of the mock exam nationwide.
