JAMB gets a new Registrar
Professor Segun Aina has been appointed as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by President Bola Tinubu, succeeding Professor Ishaq Oloyede, whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.
The appointment was announced by the Presidency in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, is an expert in digital infrastructure, examination systems, and institutional reforms. He holds degrees from the University of Kent and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and has over 15 years of experience advising governments on digital transformation and system development.
The Presidency described him as one of Nigeria’s youngest professors in Computer Engineering and noted that he will become the youngest Registrar in JAMB’s history.
He has previously worked with examination bodies such as NECO and NABTEB on ICT systems and examination integrity, while also belonging to several professional engineering organizations.
