Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University notice on resumption and matriculation ceremony, 2025/2026

The management of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM), formerly the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, has announced the full resumption of academic activities and the schedule for the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony.

In a press release issued by the Office of the Registrar, the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Isaac N. Itodo, on behalf of the University Senate, warmly welcomed both new and returning students to the 2025/2026 Academic Session and wished them a productive and successful academic year.

According to the approved academic calendar, all students are required to complete their registration on or before Friday, 16th January, 2026.

The University also announced that orientation for newly admitted students will take place from Monday, 12th January to Thursday, 15th January, 2026, to properly acquaint fresh students with campus life and academic expectations.

Furthermore, the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony has been scheduled as follows:

• Date: Friday, 16th January, 2026
• Time: 10:00 a.m.
• Venue: James Ayatse Convocation Square, South Core

All Heads of Departments, Deans of Colleges, and Directors of Centres have been directed to attend the ceremony without fail.

The University management also advised students, parents, and guardians to strictly adhere to the approved academic calendar to ensure a smooth and successful academic session.
