Kaduna Pays NECO N100 Million as 15000 Students Exam Fee:

Kaduna State Government on Tuesday said it had paid more than N100 million to the National Examination Council (NECO) as examination fee for its 15,000 candidates.

The Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Ibrahim Ali, disclosed this in a statement issued in Kaduna, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ali said the settlement of the fee would alleviate the economic burden on parents and guardians of the students, encourage access to education and improve the staus of education in the state.

He however said only students that obtained at least five credits, including mathematics and English language, would benefit from the programme.

He warned parents and guardians against withdrawing their wards from public schools to register for SSCE examination in private schools, saying the government would no longer tolerate the action.

“Some SS3 students are leaving their bona fide schools to register in private ones; any student found in that act would be dismissed,’’ he said.

The commissioner advised teachers to educate students on examination techniques to enable them perform well in their academic pursuit. (NAN)
