Kaduna Polytechnic clearance of unqualified HND candidates
The Academic Board of Kaduna Polytechnic, during its 117th meeting held on April 22, 2026, has approved a significant change to the clearance requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates.
The institution has revised the method for calculating the mandatory waiting period (Industrial Attachment) required after completing a National Diploma (ND) before entering an HND programme.
Effective immediately, the waiting period will be calculated from the effective date of the candidate's ND result to the date of their HND admission letter. This replaces the previous system which used the date of the Admission Panel Meeting as the reference point.
ADMISSION DEFERMENT: Candidates who have already paid school fees and registered but do not meet the 9-month or 18-month waiting period requirement have been granted a pardon to defer their admission.
Affected candidates will have their admission shifted from the 2025/2026 academic session to the 2026/2027 academic session. This measure ensures that students who acted in good faith but do not meet the updated timeline criteria maintain their status with the polytechnic for the following year.
The Registrarβs office has directed all relevant departments, including the Deputy Rector (Academic), Deans of Colleges, and the Director of ICTC, to take necessary actions to reflect these changes in student records and clearance processes.
