Kano State Government Announces Second Term Holiday for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Kano State Government, acting through the Ministry of Education, has officially set the dates for the second term holiday for the current 2025/2026 academic session.

This directive applies to all public and private primary and secondary schools operating within the state. The break is designed to provide students and educational staff with necessary rest and preparation time before the final term of the year begins.

Upcoming Holiday Schedule

  • Day Schools: Holiday begins Friday, 17 April, 2026
  • Boarding Schools: Holiday begins Saturday, 18 April, 2026

The Commissioner of Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, expressed his best wishes for a successful holiday to all pupils and students. He strongly advised parents and guardians to monitor their wards and ensure they return promptly for the new term to maintain academic momentum.

  • Day Schools: Monday, 4 May, 2026
