Karl Kumm University appoints Prof. Jabil as Substantive Vice-Chancellor

PA new Substantive Vice Chancellor has been appointed for Karl Kumm University Vom Nigeria, he is Prof Yakubu Yerima Jabil.

He takes over from Professor Audu Nanven Gambo whose term as Vice-Chancellor expires on 20th May, 2026.

A statement signed by the institution's Registrar, Benjamin Dachomo explained that the second Board of Trustees of the university appointed Prof Jabil after a special meeting following the consideration of a report of the Governing Council.

A Professor of Physics with the University of Jos, Prof is an accomplished academic, renowned Theoretical and Mathematical Physicist, seasoned administrator and distinguished scholar with over three decades of experience in teaching, research, academic leadership and community service.

Born on 12th August 1970 in A’Baraya, Gindiri, Plateau State, Professor Jabil obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Master of Science (M.Sc), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Physics from the University of Jos.

He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute, reflecting his strong commitment to pedagogy and academic advancement.

Over the years, he has served in several strategic academic and administrative positions in the University of Jos, as well as Karl Kumm University. 

His leadership has consistently been marked by integrity, innovation, discipline, and a passion for institutional growth. 

Professor Yakubu Yerima Jabil is widely respected for his intellectual depth, humility, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to educational excellence.  

He has supervised numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil. and Ph.D. theses, contributing immensely to the development of young scientists and researchers in Nigeria and beyond. 

Professor Jabil has published extensively in reputable national and international journals and has presented scholarly papers at several conferences and academic forums. 

Beyond the classroom and laboratory, he has rendered invaluable community and national service through election duties, church leadership, mentorship, and external examining roles in several Nigerian universities. 

He is also a member of prominent professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Physics and the National Association of Mathematical and Theoretical Physics.
