Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic SUG notice to students regarding lecture time
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, has issued a strong notice reaffirming students’ right to their officially approved break period between 12:00pm and 1:00pm.
According to the memorandum released by the Union, the SUG has received several complaints from students concerning lecturers who allegedly use the 12pm–1pm period for lectures, an act described as a violation of provisions in the Student Handbook.
The Union emphasized that the designated break time is meant for students to rest, recharge, and adequately prepare for subsequent classes. It stressed that this period belongs exclusively to students and should not be encroached upon for academic activities.
The SUG further warned that it will not tolerate any lecturer imposing lectures during the break hour. To ensure full compliance, the Union disclosed that its Task Force and Policy Implementation Committee have been mandated to monitor lecture schedules and take appropriate action where violations are observed.
Students have also been encouraged to promptly report any breach of the break-time policy to the SUG. The Union reassured the student body of its commitment to protecting their welfare and upholding their rights within the institution.
