Southern Delta University bans random playing of football within the campus
The management of Southern Delta University has issued a ban on students playing football in unauthorized areas across the campus. In an official bulletin released today, the university expressed concern over the increasing incidents of students playing football on walkways, in academic areas, hostels, and other locations not designated for the sport.
According to the statement, these activities pose serious safety risks, disrupt the academic environment, and have led to damage to university property.
To address this, the university has approved only two specific locations for football: the pitch in front of the University Stadium and the pitch in front of the Faculty of Science complex. Students are instructed to restrict all football activities to these designated areas.
The management has warned that any student caught playing outside these approved locations will face severe disciplinary action, which could include suspension for two semesters or outright expulsion. Deans, Heads of Departments, Hall Wardens, and security personnel have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
