LASU HND conversion/B.Sc top-up programme, 2024/2025

The Lagos State University (LASU), through its School of Part-Time Studies (SPTS), has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2024/2025 Conversion of HND/BSc Top-Up Degree Programme.

The Top-Up Degree Programme is designed to address the long-standing dichotomy between Bachelor’s degree (BSc) and Higher National Diploma (HND) holders. Its major objective is to provide a level playing field by awarding a Bachelor’s degree to candidates determined to overcome discrimination associated with HND qualifications. The programme also offers an opportunity for university degree holders who are dissatisfied with their class of degree to improve their classification.

Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the Conversion Top-Up Degree Programme must possess:

A relevant BSc (any class) or HND (minimum of Lower Credit), and

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or exemption.

Available Programmes and O’Level Requirements

1. BSc Accounting

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) from Government, Accounting, Commerce, Business Studies, and Book-keeping.

2. BSc Business Administration

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, and any two (2) from Financial Accounting, Government, Business Studies, Marketing, Insurance, Book-keeping, and Biology.

3. BSc Finance

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) from Financial Accounting, Government, Business Studies, Book-keeping, Marketing, Commerce, Biology, and Insurance.

4. BSc Insurance

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) from Financial Accounting, Government, Business Studies, Insurance, Chemistry, Physics, Marketing, Commerce, and Geography.

5. BSc Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, and any two (2) from Financial Accounting, Government, Business Studies, Marketing, Insurance, Book-keeping, and Biology.

6. BSc Public Administration

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics/Commerce, and any one (1) Arts or Social Science subject.

7. BSc Marketing

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, and any three (3) from Economics, Accounting, Business Studies, Book-keeping, Marketing, and Commerce.

8. BSc Mass Communication

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Literature, and any two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects.

9. BSc Computer Science

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one (1) other Science subject.

10. BSc Economics

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects.

11. BSc Geography

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects.

12. BSc Project Management Technology

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, and any two (2) Science or Social Science subjects.

13. BSc Fisheries

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Geography/Economics. A pass in Physics is compulsory.

14. BSc Science Laboratory Technology

Five (5) O’Level credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

Method of Application

Interested candidates are to visit www.lasu.edu.ng/epayment to make an e-payment of a non-refundable application fee of Twenty-Five Thousand Naira (₦25,000.00). Applicants are required to complete the application form online, upload relevant credentials, and submit. Qualified candidates will be invited for screening.

Upon offer of admission, successful candidates are required to pay an acceptance fee of Thirty Thousand Naira (₦30,000.00) and a medical fee of Thirty Thousand Naira (₦30,000.00) immediately.
