LASU SUG announces upward review of Campus Shuttle fare

Following the recent increase in petrol prices, campus shuttle operators have expressed significant difficulty in sustaining operations at the former fare of #100. This development led to a proposal by the drivers for an increase of the fare to #200.

In response, IGBEGA LASUSU ably led by the President Comr. Adebayo Korede Peter (APK) engaged in thorough deliberations with the shuttle operators, placing utmost priority on the welfare and financial realities of our students. After careful negotiations, a consensus was reached to adjust the fare to #150, as a balanced and considerate compromise.

We understand that any increment, no matter how minimal, may pose concerns. However, this adjustment is not an act of extortion, but a necessary step to sustain transportation services under current economic realities.

The Union remains deeply committed to student welfare and will continue to monitor the situation while engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure fairness and accountability.
