MAUTECH SUG notice to students on gate closing time

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has announced new closing times for the institution's gates following a meeting with the Chief Security Officer.

In a statement released on Tuesday, 10th March 2026, and signed by the SUG President, Sen. Yazeed Bello, and the Secretary General, Ahidjo Jibirilla Adamu, the union outlined the adjusted schedules aimed at ensuring student safety and security.

According to the notice, the Water Gate and the Small Gate (Starlet Gate) will now be closed by 8:00 PM daily. However, in a move to provide flexibility for students, the Primary School Gate will remain open for an additional three hours, with closure scheduled for 11:00 PM.

The SUG emphasized that the decision was reached after careful deliberations with the university's security apparatus, prioritizing the welfare of the student body.

"We want to assure you that the welfare and interest of students remain our top priority," the notice read. The union has called on all students to cooperate with security personnel at the various checkpoints, noting that the measures are designed for the collective safety of the university community.

Students are advised to plan their movements accordingly and adhere strictly to the new guidelines.
