The Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA hereby restates that its medical programme , the MBBS is up and running and has not been suspended or put in abeyance in any way or form. The suspension of admission into the programme for the 2026/2027 Academic Session ( One Session Only) is to engender seamless academic calendar, and facilitate hitch free clinical training.

Any information contrary to the above, especially insinuation about the discontinuation of the programme is false , misleading and completely at variance with the reality on the ground.

The FUTA College of Health Sciences continues to work with the FUTA Teaching Hospital to ensure hitch free clinical training for students already on the programme.

FUTA remains grateful to The President , Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , Ondo state government under the leadership of Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa , the Minister of Health Professor Mohammed Ali Pate , the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi (CFR),Elder statesman Pa Reuben Fasoranti and other members of the FUTA/Akure partnership , the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Ondo State, Dr Banji Ajaka and other stakeholders who played pivotal roles in the actualization of the birth of the FUTA Teaching Hospital , a critical component for the training of medical students of the University.

FUTA is committed to the training and Production of critical manpower for national well-being and development through its medical programmes.
