MOUAU SUG announces resumption of Tricycle on Campus, Introduces free Transportation Initiative
On behalf of the Student Union Government (SUG), the SUG Transport committee wishes to officially inform all students that friendly and productive negotiations have been held between the Dean of Student Affairs, the SUG President, the SUG Director of Transport, the Director of the Centre for Project and Revenue Generation, and the MOUAU Tricycle Service chairman and the secretary concerning the recent strike action.
The tricycle executives recently pleaded and gave reasons why the increment is necessary, and wish to let the students know how high the cost of fuel, feeding, and daily maintenance has skyrocketed.
After much deliberation, the SUG President and the SUG Director of Transport considered their reasons and agreed to their plea.
Despite the high cost of living, we urge students to kindly accept the proposed price (200 cash/transfer) by the MOUAU Tricycle Service Union. Transport activities are scheduled to resume operations fully on Monday, the 20th day of April 2026.
Furthermore, I wish to inform all UMUDYKES that on the 20th and 21st of April, 2026 (Time: 8 am to 11 am), there will be a free keke Transportation Initiative on campus. This initiative was introduced by the SUG in collaboration with the MOUAU Tricycle Service Union for both students and staff as part of our commitment to easing movement, enhancing the welfare of students and staff.
The SUG appreciates your understanding and cooperation throughout this period and remains committed to serving you.
Thank you.
