NAUB warns against indiscriminate removal of chairs and desks from classroom

Thomas β€’ 3 weeks ago

It has come to the notice of the Management that some students have formed the habit of removing chairs and desks from classrooms of the University to study on the roads and surroundings.

Regrettably, these chairs and desks are often abandoned there afterwards, thereby littering the environment and disrupting free passage of vehicles and pedestrians on the roads.

Management views this practice as an act of indiscipline and gross disregard for university property.

Consequently, all students who engage in such practices are hereby directed to desist with immediate effect, as any one found removing chairs or desks from classrooms for unauthorized use, or abandoning them outside designated areas. shall face grave disciplinary consequences.

in line with the NAUB Students' Handbook, 2026 General Conduct. (Page 53, section 3.1 b(ii) Misconduct, wilful damage/destruction of property belonging to the University or another person).

All students are enjoined to cooperate with Management to maintain a clean, orderly and conducive learning environment.

Thank you
