NECO Shuts Down Rumors: Confirms Payment to 72,138 Ad Hoc Staff

According to This Day news: The National Examinations Council (NECO) has debunked social media rumors alleging non-payment of examiners’ allowances for the 2024 SSCE. The council confirmed it has paid all 72,138 ad hoc staff engaged for the examinations.

In a statement by NECO’s Acting Director of Information, Azeez Sani, the council clarified that payments began on October 4, 2024, and were completed on November 13, 2024, as per its payment plan.

NECO attributed delays to incorrect bank details submitted by some examiners, which have since been resolved. The council urged its staff to seek clarification directly from NECO instead of spreading misinformation through the media.
