GOMSU update on NELFUND payment, 2025/2026

The Students’ Affairs Division has announced the approval of applications for the first batch of students seeking support from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Dean of Students’ Affairs confirmed that a list of underlisted students has been successfully processed. However, the management issued a crucial clarification regarding the disbursement of funds.

According to the notice, school fees approved by NELFund will henceforth be remitted directly to the University account. Consequently, any student with outstanding debts to the University will not have their fees paid from the fund.

Authorities have also advised students who have recently changed their courses to report to the University Bursary immediately to reconcile any variations in their fees.

The notice was copied to the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, the Registrar, the Bursar, and the President of the Students’ Representative Council. Beneficiaries are urged to cooperate with the new payment directive to ensure a smooth academic session.
