Northwest University, Sokoto imposes fee for late registration
Northwest University, Sokoto, has announced a grace period for students who missed the official registration deadline for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a notice issued by the Office of the Bursar, the standard registration period has officially closed. However, students who failed to register on time are now permitted to complete a late registration.
This concession comes with a significant financial penalty. Students will be required to pay a late registration fee of One Thousand Naira (₦1,000.00) for each day of delay, effective from Monday, 2nd February 2026.
The management outlined key conditions for the late registration:
· The ₦1,000 daily fee will accumulate until the registration process is fully completed.
· Failure to register within the stipulated grace period may lead to further sanctions, including being barred from academic activities.
· All payments must be made strictly through the university's approved payment channels for the registration to be validated.
The notice urged all affected students to complete their registration promptly to avoid escalating penalties and potential denial of access to lectures and other academic engagements.
