The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has called for a university-wide virtual meeting to educate students on the Tertiary Institutions Students Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP).

In a memo issued from the Registrar’s Office on Wednesday, the university announced that the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) will lead an online sensitization session this weekend.

The meeting aims to clarify the “objectives, benefits, and implementation” of the student health insurance scheme, which provides coverage for medical needs during academic sessions.

Meeting Details:

· Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026

· Time: 10:00 AM

· Venue: Zoom

· Access: Link and passcode provided in the official memo to registered students

Signed by Opeyemi Ajala, Principal Assistant Registrar on behalf of the Registrar, the notice emphasized that “all students are kindly requested to make themselves available for this important engagement.”

The TISHIP programme is a federal initiative designed to offer affordable healthcare access to students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

NOUN, with its extensive open and distance learning framework, continues to leverage virtual platforms to engage its nationwide student body on key policy and welfare matters.
