NYSC resident officer in Kano dies of COVID-19

The Kano state National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the passing of one of its resident officers to COVID-19 complications.

The management of the scheme confirmed the development saying the unidentified official was a representative of the Director-General of the scheme at the camp and was on official assignment in Kano State for the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 Orientation exercise.

He was tested and confirmed positive or COVID-19 and subsequently evacuated to Kwanar Dawaki Isolation Centre on Monday, February 1 where he later died Tuesday, February 2.

Following the reopening of camps, several corps members across the country have been testing positive for COVID-19.
