OAU Postgraduate Programmes for Rain Semester, 2025/2026academic session

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Full-time and Part-time Postgraduate Programmes for Rain Semester, 2025/2026 academic session.

The Postgraduate programmes available are:

• Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates
• Masters degrees
  • Masters with coursework, long essays/reports – MSc, MA, LLM, MEd, MFA & including Professional Masters – MSc, MA
  • Masters with coursework & research thesis – MSc, MA
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil) with coursework & research thesis
• Doctorate (Ph.D)

1. Duration of Programmes

1. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes: Full-Time – 2 Semesters
2. Master Degree Programmes:
   • Full-Time Master Degree by Coursework and Long Essay – 3 Semesters
   • Full-Time Master Degree by Coursework and Research Thesis – 4 Semesters
3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degree Programmes: Full-Time Minimum Duration – 4 Semesters
4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree Programmes:
   • Full-Time Minimum Duration – 6 Semesters
   • Part-Time Minimum Duration – 8 Semesters (subject to approval)

2. Admission Requirements

1. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes:
   1. Graduate of OAU with at least 3rd Class Degree
   2. Graduate of any approved university with a minimum of 2nd Class (Lower Division)
   3. Graduate of any approved Polytechnic with HND not below Lower Credit
2. Master Degree Programmes:
   1. Minimum of 2nd Class (Lower Division) Honours Degree from OAU or approved university
   2. HND with Lower Credit and a Postgraduate Diploma from OAU
3. Master of Philosophy Degree:
   Minimum of Second Class Lower with 50–59% (C) at Masters or Master Degree with at least 60% (B).
4. Doctor of Philosophy:
   Master’s Degree with research thesis and coursework average not less than 60% (B).
5. Very Important Notice:
   All candidates must satisfy the O’Level requirements: Five credits (including English & Mathematics where required) in not more than two sittings.
   Screening exam is mandatory for all applicants.

3. Method of Application

Application is online only. Steps to apply:

1. Log on to http://pgapply.oauife.edu.ng
2. Create an account. A system-generated password will be sent by email.
3. Sign in and fill out the application form accurately.
4. Click Remita to pay the application processing fee.
5. Submit the following supporting documents in duplicates:
   1. University Degree Certificate
   2. NYSC Discharge Certificate
   3. O'Level Certificate (WAEC/NECO)
   4. Birth Certificate / Declaration of Age
   5. Marriage Certificate (if applicable)

Additional Requirement:

Submit a research proposal:

• 3 pages for Masters with Research Thesis
• 5 pages for Ph.D. applicants

4. Payment Details

• Research & PG Diploma: N20,000.00
• Professional programmes: N25,000.00
• Subsea Engineering: N30,000.00
• DBA & DPA programmes: N50,000.00
• Geospatial/Land Admin: US$100.00
• All international applicants: US$100.00

Track application progress on the portal. Applicants will be notified by email after decisions are made. All applicants must comply with the University's postgraduate regulations upon admission.

3. Applicants already enrolled in a programme must declare it; failure to do so will lead to forfeiture of studentship.
