OAU notice on conduct of mid-semester test for fresh students, 2025/2026
The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has released the schedule for the mid-semester tests for all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to an internal memorandum signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor G.A. Aderoumnu, the tests have been approved by the University Senate to hold from January 19 to 24, 2026.
In a significant update to the university's assessment policy, the memo also announced a mandatory shift to Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for all courses with an enrolment of more than 250 students. This directive applies to both the forthcoming mid-semester tests and the end-of-semester examinations.
The move, as stated in the memo, aligns with Senate's directive and the institution's commitment to "efficient, credible, and technology-driven assessment processes."
Heads of Faculties and Departments have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the approved dates and the new CBT requirement. They are also tasked with making adequate preparations and coordinating with relevant ICT support units to facilitate a smooth transition to the digital testing format for large classes.
For technical guidance and enquiries regarding the CBT mode, the university has listed the following contacts: Professor R.L. Ikono (+2348035102875), Professor B.O. Akinyemi (+2349053007111), and Engineer O.A. Adevara (+2348033517445).
The memo concluded with a reminder that "strict adherence to the approved dates and the CBT requirement for large-enrolment courses is mandatory."
