OAU SUG ends 72-hours Lecture boycott, resumes Academic Activities Friday
Following the successful expiration of the 72-hour lecture boycott earlier announced and in view of the ongoing line of communication and constructive negotiations with the University management, the Students' Union hereby announces the end of the boycott.
All academic activities are to resume normally with immediate effect from Friday, 17th April 2026.
The leadership of the Students' Union expresses profound appreciation to the entire student body for their unwavering compliance, resilience, and steadfastness throughout the 72-hour period. Your unity and discipline made this peaceful and legitimate struggle possible.
Details as to the outcome of the negotiations, when concluded, will be provided to the general students' body and will also be presented at the next Congress.
We assure the University community that the Union remains committed to the demands earlier outlined and will continue to engage the management in good faith until all issues bordering on the new transportation system are satisfactorily resolved. Further updates shall be communicated as necessary.
We urge all students to remain vigilant, united, and law-abiding as we sustain this positive momentum. We equally call on all well-meaning stakeholders and sister unions to continue to support this legitimate struggle for improved student welfare.
Signed;
