Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Reschedules 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has formally announced a change in the date of its 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony. According to an official notice released to members of the University community, the matriculation earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 16 December 2025 has been postponed to Thursday, 15 January 2026. The time for the ceremony remains unchanged.

The University described the announcement as both an official notification and an invitation, urging staff and newly admitted students to take note of the revised date and attend the ceremony according to their assigned batch.

Updated Matriculation Details

The rescheduled matriculation ceremony will now hold under the following arrangements:

  • Date: Thursday, 15 January 2026

  • Time: 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.

  • Venue: Amphitheatre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife

  • Mode: Physical ceremony, conducted in three (3) batches

While the date has been adjusted, the duration and structure of the ceremony remain the same.

Matriculation Batches and Faculty Allocation

To ensure smooth coordination, the ceremony will be held in three batches, with Faculties grouped accordingly for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Batch A (10.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.)
The following Faculties are scheduled for Batch A:

  • Faculty of Administration

  • Faculty of Arts

  • Faculty of Law

Batch B (11.30 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.)
Batch B will comprise students from:

  • Faculty of Agriculture

  • Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences

  • Faculty of Clinical Sciences

  • Faculty of Dentistry

  • Faculty of Education

  • Faculty of Science

Batch C (1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m.)
The final batch will include:

  • Faculty of Technology

  • Faculty of Computing Science & Engineering

  • Faculty of Pharmacy

  • Faculty of Social Sciences

  • Faculty of Environmental Design and Management

Each batch has a clearly defined time slot, and students are expected to attend strictly within the period allocated to their respective Faculties.

Purpose of the Notice

The University emphasized that the announcement serves as an official notice and formal invitation to the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony. All staff and students are therefore advised to comply with the revised schedule and make necessary arrangements to participate accordingly.
