Abia State University Announces Inter-Departmental Change of Course for 2025/2026 Session

The management of Abia State University (ABSU) has officially released a notice inviting interested regular students to apply for an inter-departmental change of degree programme for the 2025/2026 academic session. This window allows eligible students to transition into new fields of study provided they meet specific university requirements.

Eligibility and Guidelines

According to the official memo signed by the Deputy Registrar (Admissions), Madumere-Enwere Beatrice, the following guidelines apply:

• Duration of Residency: Applicants must have completed at least one (1) full academic session at the University.
• Academic Standing: Students must possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00.
• Documentation: A transcript showing results for both first and second semesters is required. This transcript must be officially certified by the Registrar.
• Entry Requirements: Candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements for the new degree programme they are applying for.
• Application Process: Applications must be addressed to the Vice-Chancellor through the student's current Dean and Head of Department.

Course Exclusions: Please be advised that there are currently no vacancies for transfer into the following departments:

• Medicine and Surgery
• Law
• Pharmacy

Furthermore, all interested students will be required to pay the prescribed fees as stipulated by the university management.
