This is to inform members of the University Community that some traditional cleansing rites in Awa-Ijebu Community continue today, Friday, 24th till Tuesday, 28th April, 2026 and will hold between the hours of 11.00 p.m and 4.00 a.m. each day.

A release from the Palace of Limeri of Awa, His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Abib A. Awobajo, revealed that members of the public, including indigenes and non-indigenes are strictly advised and warned to remain indoors to enable the traditionalists carry out their assignment during the specified hours each day. This implies that both human and vehicular movements are restricted within and around Awa-Ijebu Community during the period.

In view of the above, every member of the University Community, especially staff and students, resident in Awa-Ijebu and its environs is enjoined to prioritise his/her safety and respect the tradition of the community by complying with this directive on movement restrictions during the specified hours each day.
