OOU SUG update on transportation within the campus

In a move to streamline campus logistics, the Students’ Union Transport Committee (OOUSUTC) of Olabisi Onabanjo University has released an official memorandum addressing the student populace.

The Committee confirmed it has held several high-level meetings with Bus and Tricycle Chairmen, alongside other relevant authorities. These discussions aim to directly tackle the current bus scarcity and the logistical hurdles faced by students daily.

In the statement, the Committee expressed its dedication to upholding student rights and finding sustainable solutions to these transportation challenges.

To improve the efficiency of the transport network, students are advised to take note of the following three pillars of cooperation:

  • Be Punctual: Early arrival at designated parks is essential. The memorandum notes that late arrivals lead to missed trips and contribute to overcrowding at the terminals.
  • Avoid Last-Minute Movement: Students are cautioned against leaving their hostels just 10–15 minutes before lectures, as this creates a surge that the current transport capacity cannot immediately absorb.
  • Adhere to Dressing Codes: Proper dressing is encouraged to facilitate faster security checks at the school gate, preventing unnecessary bottlenecks.

The memorandum, signed by Dehinbo Babajide Adewale (Sen. Anointing), Chairman, and Odeyemi Oluwaniyi Solomon (Hon. Solomon), General Secretary, emphasizes that a reliable and efficient system requires the collective discipline of the entire student body.
