PLASU approved academic calendar, 2025/2026

The management of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The calendar, signed by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, outlines key academic activities for both the first and second semesters.

First Semester
The session begins with the commencement of online registration for fresh students on Monday, 29th September 2025, while returning students are expected to begin their registration on Monday, 6th October 2025. Normal registration for all students will close on Monday, 13th October 2025, the same day lectures are scheduled to commence.

Admissions will officially end on Monday, 3rd November 2025, followed by freshers’ orientation from Tuesday, 4th to Thursday, 6th November 2025. The matriculation ceremony is slated for Friday, 7th November 2025.

The Christmas break runs from Monday, 22nd December 2025 to Friday, 2nd January 2026, with lectures resuming on Monday, 5th January 2026. First semester lectures will end on Friday, 9th January 2026, paving the way for revision and preparation for examinations scheduled to begin on Monday, 19th January 2026.

Examinations are expected to conclude by Wednesday, 4th February 2026, while departmental and faculty board meetings to consider results will hold between Tuesday, 17th and Friday, 20th February 2026. Scrutiny of results is set for Monday, 23rd February to Friday, 27th March 2026, before the Senate meets on Thursday, 5th March 2026 to approve the semester’s results.

Second Semester
The second semester kicks off on Monday, 2nd March 2026, with lectures running until Friday, 15th May 2026. Revision week is scheduled for Monday, 18th to Friday, 22nd May 2026, ahead of the commencement of examinations on Monday, 25th May 2026.

Examinations will wrap up on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, while industrial attachments begin on Monday, 15th June 2026. Departmental and faculty board meetings to consider sessional results will be held between Tuesday, 23rd and Friday, 26th June 2026.

Examination results scrutiny will take place from Monday, 29th June to Friday, 3rd July 2026, followed by a Senate meeting to approve results on Monday, 13th July 2026. Academic staff are expected to proceed on annual leave from Wednesday, 15th July to Wednesday, 26th August 2026. Industrial attachments will end on Friday, 4th September 2026.

Summary of Academic Activities
First Semester: 2 weeks of registration, 15 weeks of lectures, 2 weeks of examinations, and 3½ weeks for marking and approval of results.

Second Semester: 12 weeks of lectures, 2 weeks of examinations, and 3½ weeks for marking and approval of results.
