ACCOUNTING FOR PEACE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT
This study was centered on peace accounting and economic development of Nigeria. The main objective of this study is to examine the impact of peace on economic development. The study employed the descriptive and explanatory design; questionnaires in addition to library research were applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data was analyzed using the chi-square statistical tool at 5% level of significance which was presented in frequency tables and percentage. The respondents under the study were 32respondents. The study findings revealed peace significantly impacts on economic development. Based on the findings from the study, organizations/government should be vigorously involved in peace building as it helps in sustaining and promoting economic development.
