PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LEARNING OF SECRETARIAL SKILLS IN NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTION
CHAPTER ONE
1.O INTRODUCTION
1.1 Statement of the Problem.
The statement of the problem is to find out the problems associated with the learning of secretarial skills in Nigerian tertiary institution. The research report aims to find out if there are any problems associated with secretarial learning in tertiary institution, also to find out the challenges the students and learners face in the learning of secretarial skill in tertiary institutions.
1.3 Research Questions
1.4 Significance of the Study
This study is to encourage more students to pursue office technology and management course in tertiary institutions. It will also encourage parent/guardians to send their children to pursue secretariat studies as a career. This study will reveal to students the importance and benefits that secretariat student enjoy after their graduation at school. It will enable student parent guardians, academic staff and employers to discover their area of weakness and make the necessary corrections which will then brighten the future of student. It is hoped that study will inspire more research on the topic.
1.5 Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to determine how secretarial skills are acquired in the Nigerian tertiary institutions. Also the paper would look at the problems militating against the smooth running of such learning and how such problems can be solved or managed. The study would also look at the skill being displayed by both the teachers of this skills and the students acquiring such.
1.6 Scope of the Study
The scope of study will be restricted to the students and lecturers learning and teaching secretarial skills in Osun state polytechnic, iree. Therefore, the findings of this study will not be extended to other areas of study.
