ABSTRACT
This study is an assessment of the viability of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) as an option for infrastructural development in Nigeria with a focus on Enugu State. Following the obvious reality that government alone can no longer finance infrastructural development, a collaborative strategy became imperative and PPP was adopted as the most appropriate. In that regard, the problem became how to identify the particular variant among the various variants of PPP that best mitigate corruption, generate efficiency, accountability and effectiveness in the management of public sector in Nigeria and Enugu State in particular. Therefore, primary and secondary sources were used for data generation. From the data generated, the study discovered that PPP is making progress in Enugu State in terms of reduction of corrupt practices, employment generation, poverty reduction, etc due to enabling environment made possible through relative security experienced in the state. The work concludes that collaborative government has become the order of the day and recommended sustainability as cardinal factor among other factors for the maximization of the benefits of PPP approach in Nigeria and Enugu State in particular.
