THE CONSTRUCTION AND FABRICATION OF A MOBILE DEEP FREEZER

ABSTRACT
This work on the construction and fabrication of a mobile deep freezer revolves around the concept of refrigeration. The concept of refrigeration revolves around the reverse Carnot cycle. This is Ā a cycle involving isentropic expansion (at the throttling valve), isothermal expansion (at the evaporator), isentropic compression (at the compressor) and isothermal compressor ( at the condenser) Compression raises the temperatures of the refrigerant above that of its natural surrounding so that it can give up its heat in a heat exchanger to a heat sink such as air or water (condenser). Expansion lowers the refrigerant temperature below the temperature that is to be produced inside the cooling compartment.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Firstly refrigeration in the process of removingĀ heat from a substance orĀ space in order to make it cooler. A mobile deep freezer is not different fromĀ allĀ other refrigeration the only difference is that it can be moved easily by wheel or rollers to different places in a given time with less force applied to effect the movement. In refrigeration the three modeĀ Ā of heat transfer is employed causing heat to flow from highĀ temperature regions to low temperature regions.Ā TheĀ Ā substance used to carry heat in the refrigerationĀ is known as the refrigerant. RefrigerantĀ is the coolingĀ agent in refrigeration.Ā ItĀ makes indirect contactĀ with the substance to beĀ cooled.Ā ItĀ is circulated in theĀ refrigerationĀ circultĀ andĀ the attendant change of stateĀ from liquid to vapour brings about theĀ necessaryĀ coolingĀ that isĀ required in the system which also involvesĀ INTENT OR SENSIBLE HEAT.
Refrigeration is accompaniedĀ by various method such as the vapour compression system absorption system and steam jet refrigeration cycle. Refrigeration contributes greatlyĀ to the raising of living standards of people its uses can not be over emphasized inĀ this book.Ā TheĀ most common used and one that is readily recognized is the preservation of food.Ā Most products in our homes businessesĀ industries laboratoriesĀ hospitalsĀ farms etc are affected by refrigeration. Its application is also extended to other areasĀ apartĀ fromĀ food in medicine it is used in blood banks for antibioticĀ forĀ making iceĀ for compression and lowĀ temperatureĀ surgery for presenting certain tissues that pathologist work on. It is very essential in genetic engineeringĀ to preserve sperms and eggs or longer years before they work on themĀ to bring life. Deep freezer is an Electro- mechanical appliance whichĀ maintains the temperature of substance space or material as requires by the user it produceĀ artificial cooling. It operates on the principal of reversed cannotĀ cycle that is to say thatĀ it absorbs heat from a low temperature andĀ rejects it to a high temperature region. The compressor provides the conversion of energy that isĀ used in circulating the refrigerant roundĀ the circult. The crankshaft drives the piston through the connectingĀ rod and itās moved by the tongue produced by electricĀ motor.Ā The pumping effect of the piston produces theĀ high pressure on the refrigerant which sets it inĀ motion.Ā In the causes of circulation and attendantĀ change of state the refrigerantĀ returns to the initial state and ready for another cycle. In a deep freezer the condenser performs functionĀ similar to that of the radiator in an auto mobile.Ā It cools the hot refrigerator gas by giving out hear to the dryer which traps moisture that can block the meteringĀ device.Ā The liquid refrigerant passes through the metering device which expands the liquid into the evaporator pipe which is ofĀ largeĀ cross sectional area. The pipe is laid on theĀ inside of the deep freezer. A lot of insulation is done to isolate the refrigerated space from the surrounding its heating effect.
Ā PROBLEM OF THE STUDY
Looking into the present situation of things the menaceĀ caused by road side craftsmen who tends to spoil otherĀ progressĀ in pretence to repairingĀ or constructing of deep freezer so that they will enrich theirĀ pocket and then gives out fake freezers that will last for few months we then decided to embark on this project.
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
The purpose or objective of the project is to achieve the following
1.Ā DesigningĀ and constriction of a portable domestic cooling equipment that would improve on existing design taken into consideration.
2.Ā DesigningĀ and constructing a coolingĀ / freezing system that is efficientĀ with little or no complexity in maintenance.
3.Ā ImprovingĀ the designs and construction of coolingĀ freezing equipmentĀ with a reduced weight.
4.Ā ToĀ design and constructĀ a cooling equipmentĀ that will be mobile economical and cost thatĀ a common man can afford.

The project is designed to accomplish a fast freezing system without destruction of bottles at very low temperature it is designed in such a way that the freshness and nutrient of food material is refined. ItĀ is based on reduced weight cost fast freezing techniques compactness longer life span also to improve on existing designs.
